Evacuation Chair Training
For Operatives and Trainers
What does the law say?
Under the Equality Act 2010, it is unlawful to discriminate against any person with regard to any disability they may have. This includes the evacuation of your premises in the event of a fire.
Being left behind in a stairwell or refuge whilst other colleagues are leaving is not only harmful, but is a clear breach of legislation which could result in legal action being taken against you.
In the event of an incident it is vital that the correct procedures are followed with regards to the use of any evacuation chairs or equipment.
EH Systems will come along to your business premises and carry out evacuation chair training tailored to your chairs or equipment. In addition, a short course will cover risk assessments and legislation.
Evacuation Chair Key Trainer
Delegates will be provided with the tools necessary to train people to a basic operator level (course listed below). This in-depth training uses videos and an information pack and provides a more practical use of the evacuation chair.
The evacuation chair training course lasts two and a half hours and evacuation chair training can be provided on a wide variety of evacuation chairs and equipment.
Upon completion, the delegates will be able to carry out their own training sessions and safely instruct others.
Please note: This does not qualify the Key Trainer to train externally/outside of the company they are employed within.
